LAPD Motor Officer Injured in Collision on Forest Lawn Drive

A Los Angeles Police Department Valley Traffic Division motorcycle officer was hospitalized this week after he collided with a car on Forest Lawn Drive near Burbank, California. The accident occurred just after midnight when the officer was travelling home on his department issued motorcycle after finishing his shift working at a DUI checkpoint in Los Angeles. Investigators believe the driver of the car turned right from the left hand lane and caused the motorcycle to crash directly into the car's right side.

The officer is hospitalized in stable condition with a broken pelvis additional, non-life threatening injuries. His condition was described as stable. The name of the officer has not been released to the public. The driver of the car was not arrested and the circumstances of the accident are still being investigated. Valley Traffic Division seeks information from anyone who might have information about the cause of the accident.
