A tragic crash early this morning left six people dead and one more in critical condition after a wrong-way driver on a Diamond Bar freeway collided head on with two other cars. The 4:40 a.m. crash on the westbound lanes of the 60 freeway left 6 adults dead, four females and two males. An eighth victim was treated at a local hospital for minor injuries.
The driver was arrested for vehicular manslaughter and DUI causing great bodily injury or death. The driver, whose name was not released by law enforcement, is facing over a decade in state prison. Her blood results are pending with details about the accident very limited. The driver was said to have transitions from the 57 freeway and headed the wrong way on the 60 freeway, causing her to hit not one but two different cars which were travelling in the opposite direction.
My sympathies go out to the families and friends of the victims of this tragic crash.
