Reserve Santa Paula Police Officer Kills Fellow Officer in DUI Crash

A reserve police officer from Santa Paula Police Department was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and vehicular manslaughter after his car missed a curve in on South Mountain Lookout Road. The car spun and rolled over killing Santa Paula Police Officer Kimberly Hemminger. The driver and two other passengers were injured and the driver was arrested based upon his conduct.

The accident will be investigated by the California Highway Patrol. The dead woman was described as a five year veteran police officer. Initial reports indicate that this car was the only car involved in the accident and it simply ran off the winding road.
