Officers from Torrance Police Departmentrammed the vehicle of another man and then shot at him apparently thinking this man was Christopher Jordan Dorner. Early reports say that officers fromTorrance Police pulled over a vehicle that matched the description of Dorner's vehicle. After these officers determined the driver was not Dorner, they let him go. Shortly thereafter another poice vehicle rammedthe subjects car and opened fire onthe occupant. Fortunately the driver and sole occupant was not seriously injured in the wrongful shooting.
The driver, identified as David Perdue was looking to catch some early morning surf. Now he is happy he didn't catch any early morning lead. Perdue was said to have suffered a concussion and a shoulder injury as a result of the ridiculous police conduct.
I would likely be suffering from a case of soiled trousers if I were just rammed by a police car and then shot at. As far as emotional injuries, I can't say for sure how I would react to what happened, but I hope Mr. Perdue is adequately compensated for this trajedy.
The Los Angeles Times indicated that the Chief of the Torrance Police Department offered Perdue a rental car and to pay for his medical bills. Maybe we should stick the Chief in a blue (or grey) Toyota pickup of an unknown model and send him driving around the city for a day or two. Let's see how he likes it.
