118 Closed After Double Fatal Truck Crash
Posted on Apr 1, 2013 7:13pm PDT
All lanes of the Westbound 118 Freeway were closed today after a tragic truck accident killed two people. After 3:00 a.m. today a tractor trailer crashed on the freeway in the area of White Oak Avenue. The crash involved two other vehicles the cause remains under investigation at this time. Names of the decedants have not be released pending investigation conclusions and proper notifications by law enforcement. The California Highway Patrol had the highway re-opened by 9:00 a.m.
My sympathies go out to the friends and family of those involved in this terrible traffic accident. Big rig accidents are often deadly because of the size and weight of the vehicles on the highway. Ordinary passenger cars are not built to withstand the damage that can be inflicted on them when they are struck by or crash into a large truck.
