Two Killed in Tragic Freemont Accident

A three month old baby boy from Fremont, California is hospitalized in critical condition after a New Years Eve traffic collision left his 19 year old mother dead and his aunt with moderate injuries. The two teenager sisters were said to have been in an argument in the car and got out into the middle of the road about 9:45 p.m. with the mother carrying her baby in a car carrier. The three were then struck and by a pickup truck. The truck was driving by a local 64 year old man.

Witnesses say the three were in the street and outside the crosswalk when they were hit. Police arrived quickly to investigate and indicated the driver of the truck was sober and remained at the scene to offer aid. Police in Fremont are seeking any witnesses or information about the accident and are asking anyone with information to contact the Fremont Police Traffic Unit.

My sympathies to the family and friends of those lost in this tragic accident.
