CHP Officers Shoot Motorcyclist Who Failed to Yield

Some police agencies have policies about motorcycle persuits. Some departments actually call off the high speed chases because so often they result in deaths or severe injury to someone. Often police will employ a helicoptor and follow the motorcycle until they can safely take the suspect into custody. Not the California Highway Patrol and not in Ventura County.

Saturday afternoon officers from the Ventura station of the California Highway Patrol were chases a motorcycle on Pacific Coast Highway in the County of Ventura. The motorcycle failed to yield to police...so they shot him? Local news sources did not have many details of the incident at the time of my article. Ventura County Sheriff's deputies are said to be conducting an investigation.

If you knew or cared about the motorcyclist that was shot, I would love to hear more details of this incident and let you know about your rights in this case.
