Big Bear Tour Bus Crashes Killing at least 8

Having just returned from Big Bear with my 6 year old son, a recent article captured my interest. A bus crashed into a truck and another car on Sunday night in Yucaipa, California. the colision happened around 6:00 p.m. on Route 38 near Big Bear, California.

California Highway Patrol investigators say the bus lost control and flipped over the truck. This caused passengers to be ejected from the bus and killed as a result. As you may recall from previous blogs, passenger buses often do not have seat belts for passengers.

The actual cause of the accident remains unknown because investigators were still dealing with treating victims for hours after the accident. Investigators did say the bus appeared to have come from Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico and was headed back to Tijuana when the accident occurred.

Local spokesman indicated that at least 6 other people were transported to local hospitals in critical condition and that the only fatalities were passengers on the bus.

My heart goes out to those injured and their families.
